Students Against Destructive Decisions
SADD is a peer-to-peer education, prevention, and activism organization dedicated to preventing destructive decisions, particularly underage drinking, other drug use, risky and impaired driving, teen violence, and teen suicide.
The Minnewaska SADD chapter officially started in the fall of 2013! Currently SADD is going strong with a core group of dedicated students. Their is a Junior High SADD group (7th-8th graders) and a Senior High group (9th-12th graders). SADD students meet once a week during their lunch hour to plan events and activities that promote healthy living. Any 7th-12th grade student that attends Minnewaska Schools can join SADD. The only thing we do ask from the students is a commitment to be drug and alcohol free. It doesn’t matter the choices that have been made in the past but going forward, all SADD students commit to a drug and alcohol free lifestyle.
